Women's Health — Real Client Stories & TCM Insights

Cramps that send you reaching for a painkiller every month. Blood clots. A cycle that never quite settles into a rhythm. Cold hands, cold feet, no matter the season. Most of us have been told this is just "how periods are." Traditional Chinese Medicine sees it differently — as a sign that Qi and Blood aren't moving the way they should.

How TCM Understands This Differently

TCM has a simple principle: when Blood and Qi flow freely, there is no pain. When something blocks the flow, pain follows. Period discomfort isn't treated as a separate problem — it's read as a signal of what's happening in the whole body: how warm or cold you run, how much stress you're holding, how much you sit still each day.

What We Often Find

  • Blood stasis — cramping, clots, and a heavier, darker flow
  • Cold accumulation — icy hands and feet, worse pain with cold drinks or cold weather
  • Liver Qi stagnation — mood swings, breast tenderness, irregular timing, often tied to stress
  • Poor pelvic circulation — common in people who sit for long hours or cross their legs daily; not always felt yet, but shows up clearly on palpation

How We Work With It

Sessions combine moxibustion to warm and move stagnant cold, Tuina and gua sha to release stuck circulation in the lower back and hips, and acupuncture to regulate the cycle at its source — alongside simple diet guidance (skipping cold drinks and iced food around your period makes a real difference).
