Moxibustion
What is Moxibustion?
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medical therapy that involves burning dried mugwort (a small, spongy herb known asArtemisia argyi, 艾叶) on or near specific points on the body.
The primary goal is to warm and stimulate these points, promote the smooth flow ofQi (氣, vital energy) and blood, and restore balance within the body.
Often used in conjunction with acupuncture, it is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with a history spanning thousands of years.
Benefits of Moxibustion
Pain Relief
Supports relief from both acute discomfort, such as neck and shoulder tension, and ongoing conditions like joint stiffness or nerve-related pain.
Improved Circulation
Encourages healthier blood flow, helping the body reduce inflammation and support natural recovery processes.
Digestive Comfort
Helps ease common digestive complaints including bloating, irregular bowel movements, and functional digestive discomfort.
Women’s Health Support
May assist with menstrual regulation, ease period-related discomfort, and offer supportive care during fertility-related treatments.
Overall Well-being
Supports energy levels, resilience, and general immune balance, contributing to a greater sense of overall vitality.
